'Bought one of these from Jessops yesterday for £99, and i'm not impressed, its worth spending more money on a decent camcorder. The focusing is terrible, It has no DV out, it won't work as a webcam with an apple mac. Its horrible! If you're thinking of buying one make sure you try it in the shop before you do. I'd advise anyone to stay away from the NISIS DV6. If anyone knows where you can download a webcam driver for the DV6 so that I can use it with OS X on the mac please post a link here.'

'Don't buy a NISIS DV6, you will have nothing but problems with it, go for a cheap miniDV camcorder instead. You have been warned!'

The video quality is not great but is still better than most camera phones,I find the photo quality good enough for a cheap everyday digicam. Its good for messing around with but is not really a substitute for a decient camcorder.I'm happy enough with mine as it was cheap and better than i expected.

I think this is a brilliant camera. It should be nearer £50, and does everthing it's meant to do in a small packagce that you can carry around in your shorts on holiday. Lets face it, none of us are Orson Welles, and who bothers with Macs any more these days? - they're so last century...

peter-if your camera just gets warm you need a new battery its a nokia battery 3.7v 1000mAh lithium-ion battery curiously the camera is rated at 4.2v using an NP60 battery but i think my camera has a wrong sticker on it cos it works fine on 3.7v patrick -the lead u need is usb-to-mini usb(try maplins for best price) when u plug this into the computer it steals power from the computer to charge the battery if u havnt got a mains charger to all -if you have no software disk the computer should recognize the device anyway my windows xp does the disk only contains Ulead photo express studio and a basic Ulead video edit studio to which u have to subscribe if you want to update version use Windows movie maker -much better and faster on XP nice camera but basic point and shoot for beginner the only time i was able to use as webcam was on Windows 98 on slow old machine back in the day !

if you want to use the DV6 as a web cam do this: The red LED will light up when the camera is connected to the computer(windows xp in my case) This red LED is situated in the toggle button on the back of the camera. this means that the camera is in mass storage device mode and files can be found on your computer at "My ComputerRemovable DiskDCIM" When in mass storage mode press Mode button on the back of the camera and the above mentioned red LED will switch to a green LED.Now in this mode you can now implement the web cam function thus: Using Windows Live Messenger 1.click on 'show menu' right hand side of the tool bar. 2.click 'Tools' in the menu that opens up 3.click 'Audio and video set up' from the sub menu that opens up OR 4.click 'Web cam settings' from the sub menu that opens up and follow the instructions This works for me and took a bit of button pushing on the camera to find it after i had posted my comments Re Windows 98! despite what i said in my earlier
