I quite like the fasthosts control panel, but the reliability of the Fasthost control panel has been poor. I work as web designer and use Fasthosts to host all my smaller clients sites. It's a very affordable option for small companies who do not mind the odd hours downtime.

'I had a reseller account with Fasthost, and I was led to believe that it was a raid enabled server. It wasn't until something went wrong and I lost all my data that I relised that it either wasnt RAID enabled or Fasthosts had screwed up the configuration. Anyway I am no longer a Fasthosts customer, I decided to pay a lot more money and go host my sites with Rackspace, I sleep a lot better these days!'

'Fasthosts have had a bad reputation for some time, but a lot of customers that i have recently spoken to say that there service has improved dramatically over the last couple of years. I may sign up for an account myself to find out, they do look very cheap.'

Fasthost has to be one of the worst hosting companies i've ever used, along with streamline.net and webfusion. I wouldn't touch any of these hosts with a ten foot barge pole! Their servers are slow, their support is abismal and their features are lacking. If you want cheap and cheerful hosting to run testing on, fine, if it's going to be a real site or a business forget it, infact most ISP's give away webspace for free, you might as well test with that, than waste good money on hosts like these!

I would tend to agree with the review - not bad, but not good enough to bet my business on. I also spent a lot more at Rackspace, and I also sleep better!

I came across a situation where i had to change my domain name, and it was hell for me to do that with fasthosts actually you have to remove the domain which will remove the whole website and every thing and then configure the new one from stretch, does not makes sense does it. to change to domain to new name i think you just have to add new dns record in your hosting part and point your domain to the hosting dns thats it. but they wont let you do so.

I recently came to the end of a domain's lifespan and I was not interested in renewing. I did what the renewal email told me but it clearly didn't work at their end and they charged my credit card anyway and refuse to refund any money at all. Even tho they've charged me more than they quote on their homepage!

I have had very bad experience with Fasthosts. Every time I made a change on my web control panel like creating ftp accounts or setting permissions, I had to phone them up because it was not working. They would then say there was something wrong and then fix it. This is after being on hold for 15 minutes on a 087 premium number. I have recently created a sub domain with them only to find out they don’t have a proper sub domain system. They make use of frames to display your sub domain and this has many downsides. Last week the send me an email saying there has been a security vulnerability on their server and all the usernames and passwords were exposed. This is the last thing you need if you are running your companies website on one of there servers. This is only a few of the issues I had with them over the last 12 months and I would honestly not recommend them to anybody.

Fasthosts dedicated servers offer very poor support. We were locked out of our dedicated server and requested a password reset. Fasthosts charged us £70 for for an engineer to do this and told us this will probably be done in the next 2 days but could take up to a week. However it was only after 5 weeks that the engineer had looked at our request! Due to the ticketing support system the communication line had resulted in us being sent back to the back of the support queue again! The support staff on the phone still could make no guarantees about dates. Another 3 weeks passed until the engineer had managed to look at the server and without warning us, rebuilt the server without the original website files, thus all websites have were down. Again I phoned support to ask when they will restore the websites & data and yet again they could give me no guarantees about when the websites data will be restored. Other points to stress for their poor support is: 1) Their responses to customer support emails are short, vague without answering all the questions asked. It seems like the email responses are rushed, probably due to the amount of support they have to deal with. 2) The response to customer emails does not contain the original sent message, only the ticket number and this can be very difficult to keep track of the support emails between yourself and fasthosts. 3) It seems that fasthosts has grown too big and cannot offer the support needed for serious website hosting. I would advise anyone not use fasthosts, if you want to host important websites then look elsewhere.

Fasthost are very quick to take your money and very slow at offer any help. They operate a hide policy of taking money from people axccounts of the basis that automatic domain renewal is contained in the terms and conditions, before you know it they have been in your acount and taken the money. No warning... This is not a fair way of doing business.

Worst webhosting company I have ever dealt with. Downtime, slow page loads often, overcrowded databases. Above all, their customer service is so bad it is a joke. If you have a problem, you can be sure it wont be sorted without superhuman persistence and maybe not even then. I am leaving them and I would advise anybody not to go near them.

Fast host are a shady company and the telephone support staff are creepy and not out to help anyone but their wallets! - watch out they will continue taking money out of your account without your permission! I have now blocked payments from my credit card.
